Vintage rare and ornate Natick, RI (W. Warwick) In Memoriam Ribbon for Societa' Italiana  Di Mutuo Soccorso (kind of a mutual aid society for Italian immigrants) San Pietro Martire (could be referring to Saint Peter or one of the churches in Naples or Murano, Italy) circa 1910.  This ribbon is packed with embellishments including a Whitehead and Hoag Enameled Friendship Pin, a Gold Star, Hand Stitched American and Italian Flags, Silver and Gold Tassels on opposite ends, a Stamped Metal Hand Colored Eagle with American Flag Design Shield again flanked by American and Italian Flags and word 'Presidet' (incorrect spelling) beneath.  On reverse side are Italian Flag colors and Italian Society Gold Print.  Entire piece made have been made by Whitehead and Hoag or possibly other pieces were made elsewhere and added.  Measures 12"L not including tassel at top with one tassel askew.  Condition overall is good the flags have some fraying at ends and metal piece has wear in a couple spots.  Also some foxing on reverse with flag.  This is an awesome piece a work of art and amazing symbol of Italian heritage and early immigrants into U.S.   This will ship fast and FREE signature required.  Contact us any questions and please follow our store we focus on rare and unique.
