Sasha Baby "White Bird" #508 was manufactured in England by Frido/Trendon Ltd. circa 1975-86.
White Bird is a super cute anatomically correct vinyl baby girl doll with dark brown eyes highlighted with blue eye shadow, dark brown
painted
brows, faintly rosy lips, and rooted dark brown hair.
Her arms and legs are strung with white cord, and she still wears her small silver Sasha Serie wrist tag on her right wrist. Her stringing is loose, though she is able to sit well.
Her hair remains soft and full.  Little Flower wears her original blue and white check smocked top, red tights, and navy blue tied vinyl booties.  She is missing her white bird accessory.  Her outfit may require a gentle laundering to remove dust.  The tights' elastic waistband has stretched, leaving a glossy "shadow" above her stomach's seam line.  When I undressed White Bird, I noticed that she was leaking a bit of sand, accounting for a powdery look around her arm and thigh openings.  I wiped away much of it.  Long ago a kind Ebayer informed me that "The sand she has on her, and inside, is the sand used to sandblast them in the factory to take the shine away from the skin.  Some dolls are all sandblasted to soften their look, some just the torso and head and others are all shiny.  I like all their variations."  I was unable to locate any further information online about this particularity.  Her box is NOT included.  Sasha "White Bird" remains an appealing and earlier anatomically correct Sasha baby girl doll in her original outfit.
