1909 New York Pre State License Plate Prestate All Original Painted on Bakelite

This beautiful old historic item is 100% All Original, with no touch up or repaint of any kind. It dates to 1909 or 1910, and consists of a hand painted smooth strip of an early type of plastic, probably white bakelite or possibly ivorine. I have not even attempted to clean it. See the close-up photos for detail. This plate was uncovered many decades ago, and has been in the personal collections of numerous ALPCA members over the years.

Size is 15 3/8 by 4.25 inches, with numbers 3 inches high. The plate is a little less than one eighth of an inch thick.
